Anita Olinga works as a nurse to support her self-proclaimed farming addiction.
Anita attended church with the Divers family, and became involved with Alyssa’s story after helping with a fundraiser to assist with expenses associated with Alyssa’s treatment. From the petting zoo at that event Alyssa feel in love with a rabbit, who she took home to become her beloved pet named Snowball-Not-Dinner-Divers.
One night, about a year after Alyssa died, Anita was at work and remarked to a colleague how many family members of hospitalized patients slept in the waiting rooms. She thought it be great if they had somewhere to go, and the idea of The Alyssa House was born. With the blessing of Lynn and Jeff, a members of Sojourners United Church of Christ, the process began. She is proud to stand today with The Alyssa House, offering grace to body and spirit.
